About the Webinar Program
In December 2011, the 17th Conference of Parties assembled in Durban, South Africa to continue discussions on the future of the Kyoto Protocol and a global agreement to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in both developed and developing countries. Building upon the success of the Cancun Agreements and the Copenhagen Accord, substantial strides were made at COP-17 as thousands of delegates worldwide traveled to Durban to participate in the negotiations and related business conference activities . With the first commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol set to expire this year, the agreements reached in Durban are an important foundation for negotiations scheduled to take place in Qatar in December 2012.
Just a few weeks before the inaugural Climate Leadership Conference, ACCO, C2ES and The Climate Registry invite you to a discussion on the outcome of COP-17, a look forward to COP-18, and the impacts this event will have on U.S. businesses, the policymaking process at Federal and sub-national levels, and international efforts to build upon the Kyoto Protocol.
