Sustainability and Development post doc opportunity at the University of Michigan
The University of Michigan announces one post-doctoral research opportunity, beginning July 2019, focusing on research products related to sustainability and development and also the coordination of tasks for the Sustainability and Development Initiative (SDI). The SDI currently consists of an annual conference, and additional components are in development: an online curriculum, publishing options, and a Sustainability and Development Resource book. The postdoc will play a leading role in developing the resource book, which seeks to bring together the best available knowledge about the mechanisms and interventions that have already demonstrated promise for achieving the 17 SDGs. The Sustainability and Development Resource Book will have an initial focus on 1) poverty and 2) hunger. The candidate will undertake literature review and syntheses, while also organizing and facilitating a collaborative process with practitioners and policy-makers to collate data and insights from non-peer reviewed sources. The candidate may also collaborate with other staff and post docs in the implementation of the annual Sustainability and Development Conference, to be held in October 2019.
How to Apply
Applicants should submit 1) a 1-2 page cover letter that a) explains their interest in the position, and b) outlines their relevant skills and experience, 2) a copy of their CV, 3) a recent publication or dissertation chapter, and 4) names and contact details (email addresses and telephone numbers) for three references.
