Invitation to act as an Associate Editors: "Handbook of Climate Change Management"
The Climate Change Management Series, started with Springer in 2018, has become the world´s leading book series on climate change adaptation https://www.springer.com/series/8740. It has published over 30 high impact books to date, and the next publication is the Handbook of Climate Change Resilience, due in the summer:
We are now starting a new book project, titled "Handbook of Climate Change Management".
It will follow on our highly successful 2015 "Handbook of Climate Change Adaptation" https://www.springer.com/gp/book/9783642386695, with has had in excess of 300.000 downloads, being much larger in scope.
Thematically, the Handbook will addresses the issue of climate change management, looking at matters such as climate change policies, governance and planning on the one hand, but also on matters related to climate change and resilience, adaptation strategies, climate change and poverty, climate change and gender, financing adaptation measures, and the role of governmental support and international organizations. Innovative as it should be, the Handbook will also look at matters such as climate change and poverty, and the use of indigenous knowledge for climate change management, an emerging issue which has been largely overlooked until now.
This will be the largest non-publicly funded publication ever produced, which is specifically devoted to addressing matters related to the management of climate change.
We are now putting together a team of Associate Editors from across the world, and will invite about 100 reviewers to contribute. We are currently seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified colleagues, PhD holders, who may be interested to act as Associate Editors. The tasks are two-fold:
- to promote the publication among your colleagues, contacts and networks, so more colleagues may take advantage of this opportunity;
- to help with the review of a small set of papers
The post of Associate Editor is a honorary one, i.e. there are no payments, but your name and photo will appear on the web site and on the book (second cover), increasing your own exposure. Also, this postcan be a nice addition to one´s CVs, and may assist when applying for project grants.
Colleagues interested to act as an Associate Editor of the "Handbook of Climate Change Management" should senda note with their names and their full institutional and contact details (this is important!), along with a summarised CV to:info@iccip.net.
The deadline is 30th June 2019.
We will get back to the selected colleagues and inform them about the procedures.
