London: Urban and Human Geography posts

We are looking for two new geographers to join us from 01 January 2020, one urban and one human.

The Department of Geography at Birkbeck was established in 2009 as part of the School of Social Science, History and Philosophy (SSHP), and now houses 20 academic staff providing research-led courses relevant to the lives of our students. Our teaching and research critically engages with key debates in environment and climate change, globalisation and international development, cities and urbanisation, inequality and cultural change. We offer expertise in a range of methodologies including ethnography, visual methods and geo-analytics and modelling. The department maintains a vibrant and supportive learning environment, encouraging collaboration across disciplines and with non-academic partners, facilitated by regular seminars, discussion groups and events with both internal and visiting speakers.
